An Oriental Medicine Clinic For Allergic Rhinitis
Allergic Rhinitis (hay fever) is a common health condition with symptoms that include itchy, watery eyes; runny nose; congestion; and sneezing. It is caused by the release of antigen-antibodies that are produced by the immune system to protect the body from foreign invaders such as bacteria and pollen. It can be controlled with medications such as hay fever drops or antihistamines. It can also be treated with acupuncture and herbal medicine. A number of studies have found that acupuncture reduces the primary symptoms of allergic rhinitis.비염한의원
In addition to acupuncture, a complete Oriental Medicine (OM) treatment may also include Chinese herbal medicine and Asian bodywork such as cupping, gua sha or Tui Na. OM is the oldest medicine in the world and has been practiced for more than 3,000 years. In fact, a Chinese herbalist and acupuncturist helped to save the life of a former Supreme Leader during the revolution in China.
Many people are searching for an alternative to prescription drugs and invasive surgeries. As a result, Eastern medicine practitioners are increasingly becoming more popular as a first line of defense for conditions such as rhinitis. Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine are non-invasive, natural, and effective. The holistic approach that a trained acupuncturist provides is one of the best ways to treat the root causes of a patient’s disease.
During their time at New York College of Health Professions Graduate School, Oriental medicine students will spend more than 1000 hours supervised in our academic health care teaching clinics where they will talk with patients and work with faculty to assess their condition and treat it using acupuncture and herbal medicine. This is a key component of the 185 credit program that is designed to be completed in ten trimesters, so that students can quickly get their license to practice and start helping patients.
Our on-campus Whole Health Center clinic gives OM and acupuncture students the opportunity to work alongside other health care students and practitioners from the naturopathic medicine and chiropractic medicine programs. We are always investing in state-of-the-art facilities that provide students with a solid foundation for the core biomedical sciences, including gross anatomy labs where they learn both Western anatomy and Eastern meridian theory through hands on dissection of human cadavers.
The acupuncture and herbal medicine practices that you will learn at an Oriental Medicine clinic will provide a comprehensive understanding of the mind, body and spirit. These ancient therapies are a valuable tool for treating a wide range of ailments and they can be used alone or in combination with other complementary forms of healing such as massage therapy and physical therapy. This makes them an excellent option for addressing the chronic pain that is so common in today’s world: neck, back, shoulder, elbow, knee, carpal tunnel, headache and more. Our students will leave the program with a mastery of both Eastern theories and techniques as well as fundamental knowledge of modern biomedical science and medical diagnostics that prepare them for a successful career as an acupuncturist.라경찬한의원
